The Courtyard Venue Oswestry Wedding Photograph
Sophie and Scott married at The Courtyard Venue in Oswestry in September 2023.
The Courtyard Venue is set amoungst the shropshire countryside and is the perfect location for your celebartions if you are looking for a barn venue which you can put your on stamp on. The barn has a charming rustic vibe with white washed walls giving off a Mediterranean feel. You can make your wedding unique here, and the gardens offer great photo opportunities.
Emotional Wedding Ceremony at The Courtyard Venue, Oswestry
Sophie & Scott's ceremony took place in the barn which was decorated with fairy lights and floral arrangements created by a family member and it really set the mood for ceremony and made the celebration one to remember. It was lovely to see and capture guests arriving for the big day greeting each other by exchanging hugs and catching up.
Emotions were flowing before Sophie headed down the aisle. Sophie & Scott personalised their ceremony by including readings from friends and family before saying their I Do's and once married Sophie & Scott headed back up the aisle through a flurry of confetti excited for their celebrations to continue.
Natural, Relaxed Documentary Photography in Shropshire
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed reception drinks in the garden, providing an opportunity for us to capture those real, unposed moments from the day . Despite the unpredictable weather, it didn't dampen the atmosphere and we still captured everything and more.
As the day unfolded, guests were treated to live music to delicious food and drinks, the celebrations offered a a relaxed day to all who attended. Group photos were kept to a minimum , and while these were taking place my second photographer focused on capturing more candid moments so Sophie and Scott could see their guests enjoying their day while we stepped away to capture those all important couples photos.
DIY Barn Wedding Venue, Shropshire
During reception drinks, I made sure to pop in to capture the details where the wedding breakfast would take place. When planning their wedding, Sophie & Scott wanted a venue they could add their own personal touches to and with the Courtyard being a blank canvas this enabled them to create their wedding day without any comprimises. Their main colour palette was dusky pink and they used bold colours from the florals and candles to pull all of their details together. They also used personalised name cards for their guests, and wrote cards for all of their guests as their favours.
The guests were seated for the wedding breakfast, Sophie & Scott chose to serve pie and mash and I can honestly say it was delicious!! Speeches followed shortly after starting with the Best Man who literally raised a "toast", followed by the Bride, Father of the Bride and the Groom. We then took some time away from guests before the evening party began to capture some more couples photos before the first dance and evening party.
Sophie and Scott booked with me for my Photography and Videography package and added on an additional hours coverage to the booking to ensure the epic dancefloor shots were captured. Highlights video below from my videographer on the day.

An amazing photographer! Nicki was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She really understood our aim for the day and how we wanted our photo's to be. Nicki captured amazing candid photo's of us and our guests as well as making us feel at ease and guiding us through the more styled photos. It's amazing how most of the time we didn't even realise there were photographers there. Both the preview photos and final photo's came back super fast. We couldn't recommend Nicki enough!!
