Autumn Wedding Inspiration at The Courtyard Venue in Oswestry

The Courtyard Venue is situated in the beautiful Shropshire countryside was the obvious choice. After photographing a wedding there, I fell in love with its rustic charm and knew it would be the perfect backdrop for some autumn wedding inspiration.


Rustic Mediterranean Charm in a DIY Barn Venue in Shropshire


Inside, the venue’s rustic Mediterranean vibe really stands out. With its whitewashed walls, The Courtyard Venue offers a unique setting for both the ceremony and the reception. The barn is cleverly divided into two main areas, making it easy to transition from saying “I do” to celebrating with family and friends. The ceremony area comes pre-decorated with twinkling fairy lights, creating an intimate and enchanting atmosphere. Yet, it’s also a blank canvas for couples to sprinkle in their personal touches. For this shoot, we dressed up the space with a stunning copper frame and seasonal florals, incorporating bold autumn colors like burgundy, burnt orange, and earthy greens. These hues were carried through into the stationery and candles, bringing a rich, autumnal vibe that felt both striking and elegant.

Enchanting Gardens at The Courtyard Venue

One of the highlights of The Courtyard Venue is its magical gardens. Whether you're after stunning couple’s portraits or a lovely spot for your drinks reception, the outdoor space is an absolute gem. With winding paths, vibrant blooms, and rustic stone walls, there are countless photo opportunities waiting to be captured.


But it’s not just about the photos, the outdoor areas are fantastic for mingling with your guests during the drinks reception and provide a gorgeous backdrop for those candid moments that make weddings so special.

Warm and Inviting Reception Area

For the reception, we really embraced the season's richness for autumn inspiration. Trellis tables were adorned with colorful linens and soft candlelight, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.


The bold floral arrangements featuring dahlias, roses, hydrangeas, and even brambles added depth and texture to the space.


To enhance the overall design, we added pops of color through the stationery, favours, cake, amber water glasses, and gold cutlery. The gold charger plates and napkins tied everything together beautifully, perfectly complementing the warm autumn tones.
