An Intimate Wedding at Shrewsbury Abbey

Jill and Paul’s Shrewsbury Abbey wedding was a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t follow rules, timelines, or traditions. It simply shows up, exactly as it is.

Shrewsbury Abbey - a stone church facade with large arched window, clock, and red phone booth. Trees and hedges in front, blue sky above. Peaceful setting.

Set within the historic walls of Shrewsbury Abbey, their day was intentionally intimate, shared with just a handful of their closest people. There was a calm, meaningful atmosphere from the very start — no rush, no expectations, just a quiet excitement and so much warmth.

With fewer guests, every moment felt deeply personal. Conversations lingered longer, smiles came easily, and there was space to truly take everything in. Shrewsbury Abbey provided a stunning and timeless backdrop, its soft light and historic character adding to the sense of occasion without ever overpowering it.

Jill and Paul’s wedding was a beautiful example that love isn’t about fitting a mould or doing things a certain way. It’s about connection, companionship, and choosing each other — quietly, confidently, and wholeheartedly.

One of my favourite details from the day was Jill’s dress. Breaking away from tradition, she chose a green floral wedding dress, which suited both her personality and the relaxed feel of the celebration perfectly. It was joyful, confident and completely her - proof that the most meaningful wedding choices are the ones that feel right to you. A gorgeous day for a truly gorgeous couple, and one I’ll remember fondly.
